A July 2023 trip to try to see the pumas Chile hoping to see pumas in snow. It can be difficult to time the snow, but on our first day we had a storm that left 2 feet of snow - the most the guides had seen in 20 years. We had some tough conditions - snow blocking some routes, vehicles sliding and getting stuck, temperatures as low as -11F (-24C) and fog that makes spotting pumas difficult. Despite the tough conditions it was an amazing adventure! Viewing these majestic animals on foot is an incredible experience and the snow provided a unique environment.
