Arctic Tern - Feeding Time

Arctic Terns are amazing - each year they fly 44,000 miles - no that is not a typo. They migrate between the arctic and Antarctica every year. Direct routes between these regions are 12,000 miles each way, however miniature transmitters allowed scientists to track some flying from Greenland to Antarctic - because they followed zigzagging routes the actual miles traveled was 44,000.
