Caspian Tern Skimming Water with Freshly Caught Fish
A Caspian tern (Hydroprogne caspia) skims the water with a freshly caught fish. This was taken near a colony with larger chicks. This tern kept flying around with a rather large fish - perhaps it was too big for the chicks or maybe the family was full. He didn't want to let go of it but did take this dip in the water with the fish before flying off with it.
