Brown Bears Playing
Brown Bears (Ursus arctos) Playing: Katmai National Park in Alaska, United States. We visited Brooks Lodge in September when the bears are feeding on spawned out salmon. By this time they have gained some of their winter weight and feeding is not as intense. Some bears even take time to play. The bear whose back you see in this photo was particularly playful as we enjoyed watching him instigate several play sessions with other bears particularly females without cubs.
