Wildlife will often hunker down in a storm, but not this mama brown bear. She was busy trying to fatten up her two yearling cubs (aka bottomless pits). Adult brown bears can eat 80-90 pounds of food each day during the summer and fall to prepare for winter hibernation. They are opportunistic eaters and will eat almost anything including seaweed. Although the cubs aren't visible in this photo, I can tell you that by their size she was doing an excellent job and they looked well prepared for winter.
