I just returned from a last minute trip to Chile hoping to see pumas in snow. It can be difficult to time the snow, but on our first day we had a storm that left 2 feet of snow -the most the guides had seen in 20 years. We had some tough conditions - snow blocking some routes, vehicles sliding and getting stuck, temperatures as low as -11F (-24C) and fog that makes spotting pumas difficult. Despite the tough conditions it was an amazing adventure! Viewing these majestic animals on foot is an incredible experience and the snow provided a unique environment.
