Polar Bear – Barents Sea near Svalbard
We traveled in a small ice breaker ship in the Barents Sea off of the east coast in Nordaustlandet Svalbard. Our guide spotted this polar bear in the pack ice. The ship moved closer and then anchored on the edge of the ice pack. The bear was curious and gradually came closer eventually coming very close and watching us. If you look closely you will notice the reflection of our ship in his eyes.
