Firefall at Yosemite National Park: During the last couple of weeks in Yosemite the angle of the sun lines up so that Horsetail falls glows for about 10 minutes. Conditions have to be perfect - enough moisture for the small falls, warm enough during the day for some snowmelt and clear skies to the west. Yosemite in winter is spectacular for many reasons but I visited at this time hoping to catch the glow. For two of the three nights rain and clouds kept me from view. On this particular night the weather was not looking good, but at sunset a small break in the clouds brilliantly lit up the falls creating a spectacular experience.
