We were in a small icebreaker ship traveling off the Austfonna glacier in Nordaustlandet, Svalbard when our guide Rinie van Muers spotted a tiny bit of yellow in the midst of all the icebergs. None of the passengers could spot the bear until we were quite a ways into the ice. The bear was interested in us and provided quite a show. At one point he seemed to be calculating how he could get on board to join us. This was taken at 127mm (98mm with a 1.3 sensor) so we were quite close.
