Eye Level Brown Bear Cub Portrait in Tidal Area of Alaska

In August, 2023 we toured the inside passage of Alaska from a small boat hoping to see wildlife. Freshwater Bay on Chichagot Island was the highlight of the trip for me. Brown bears (Ursus arctos) had come here to fish for salmon. We stayed for a few magical days and were able to see all ages of bears come in and out of the area. On this morning a mom and her two cubs had come to search for salmon. While mom fished the cubs explored along the tidal zone. We were in a small boat in the harbor and one of the cubs got curious and came over to the edge of the rocks to watch us.
