On the Edge
Our ship was anchored near a narwhale carcass for the evening. We had been watching several male polar bears feeding on the carcass during the day. Late in the day this mom and her 2 cubs approached the area with their superior sense of smell guiding them. Mom kept her cubs at a safe distance from the well fed males while she investigated the area. Here she checks the edge of the ice pack before moving on.
